It would be very easy to make this challenge all about Grant. But I don't want to do that so I'm trying not to. Lots of things fall under the "favorite memory" category...I don't have one favorite. So I picked this one.
This is what my summers looked like as a kid. My aunt Betty and uncle John live on the "lake" in Norwood and we spent SO much time there. I mean, come on, tell me that doesn't look like fun! There was a raft (in the back of the picture) that we jump and dive from. Sometimes people would try to sunbathe on it...but that never worked out well for them. Uncle John had a boat and he'd take us for rides, or tubing, and some people would go water skiing. I'm sure all our parents loved it because we were nothing but worn out by the end of the day. There were only two things that got us out of the water: food and lightening.
This is also where we had every Fourth of July picnic. More swimming, probably some games?, lots of food and usually at some point it would rain. It seemed to rain every Fourth of July. But that never stopped the *ahem* fireworks that Uncle John had (I'm not sure if they were legal. They probably wouldn't be now). I don't know why this picture makes me think of this, but I remember one year about 20 minutes after we'd all sat down to eat my Mom realized that she had dressed her burger bun completely and had eaten most of it only to realize that she forgot to put the burger on it! Funny. I'm pretty sure she finished it that way too.
Good times! The past few years that I've been home the swimming has been swapped out for some kayaking with my Sis. But I'm looking forward to taking Grant swimming when he's big enough!

Day 4 - A Picture of Your Night
There isn't just "a picture" of my night. My night usually includes starting/cooking dinner almost as soon as I come in the door, then we eat and I feed Grant his dinner afterwards, then it's usually a bath for him after that. Usually a small amount of playtime and sometimes a story follows bath time and then I give Grant his night time bottle. After the bottle is my time to wind down with a good book (by way of my favorite new gadget - my Kindle)
My night needs many pictures. But this is a picture of my favorite part of my night. Not because it means Grant is going to bed but because feeding time is when he's the most cuddly. With his new found mobility he's not as content with simply being held anymore. But during that last bottle he's not trying to squirm and get to the floor so he can crawl. Or concentrating on a toy that he can't wait to get his hands on. He's just happy and content to cuddle with Mommy and so sleepy and warm. It makes me want to just curl up with him. But I try to save that for the nights when he doesn't sleep well.

Day 3 - A Picture of the Cast From Your Favorite Show
| The very small cast of Murder She Wrote (This is not the original cast. This is after the retirement of Sheriff Amos Tupper. The Sheriff here is Mort Metzger and I liked him too.) |
Ha! OK, so I tried to figure out which of the shows I DVR could be considered my "favorite" and the answer is: none. If any of them went off the air tomorrow it wouldn't be a big deal. BUT if I couldn't find Murder She Wrote re-runs (usually around 12 a.m. or 1 a.m. on the Hallmark channel)...I'd be slightly heart broken. I haven't DVR'd many episodes lately because Husband really rips on me about it. When he catches me watching it I have to turn it off before he can make fun of whatever they're saying. But...I love that show. Love it. I can watch it over and over and over again. I have recently found out that Netflix has all the episodes to watch instantly so I'm really looking forward to resuming my Netflix subscription after hockey season is over. Oh, and for all you secret Murder She Wrote lovers out there who have time for computer games (I, sadly, do not) there is a Murder She Wrote game! I'm serious. Google it.

Day 2 - A Picture of You and the Person You Have Been Closest With the Longest
![]() |
| Love this picture of me and my sister :) I think it was taken at the house my parents rented before we moved into the house they bought. The one that, I guess, my sister and I now own. |

Day 1 - A Picture of Yourself With Ten Facts
| Working at the State Fair in 2008. I made a friend. |
- I am 30 years old and was surprised at how not a big deal it was to turn 30. I think I had a harder time with the last few birthdays leading up to 30. I'm kinda liking 30.
- I get home-sick more often than I admit to or talk about.
- The whole time I was pregnant, the smell of a grilled sandwich made me nauseous (but I still ate them) and I've never gotten over that. I eat a grilled cheese a couple times a week but I can't stand the smell of it. Weird.
- I recorded a song with my cousin AJ and it was played on the radio.
- 85% of my job deals with paperwork that usually has some kind of animal excrement on it. Hand sanitizer is my friend.
- I enjoy breakfast for dinner much more than I enjoy breakfast for breakfast.
- I love coffee. Love it. And I have to have at least one cup a day (in the morning). I even drank it when I was breastfeeding and it was decaf and pointless. My energy level knew the difference but my taste buds sure didn't.
- I am always late. For everything. Always.
- I love the smell of sharpies.
- I like even numbers. I prefer the volume on the radio and on the TV to be on even numbers. If they're not, I just sit there and think about it.
