High Five for Friday

Today I'm linking up with Lauren and Jennie to share some of my favorite stuff from the past week.

1) Grant participated in his school's annual trike-a-thon to benefit St. Jude and raised $255 to help their efforts! And later on that day we took him out for pizza to celebrate and I surprised him with a quick pre-dinner stop at the park.

2) Saturday we had a fun little water balloon fight!

3) On Sunday, Grant had his first ride on the mower. He's always loved to stand at the window and watch Husband mow and he never asks to ride it. I know it's technically a no-no but the blades weren't going, it was just a ride around the house.

4) I got to make this fun cake for one of our directors who'll be leaving us soon.

5) I finally had some time to bake up some treats for the staff at Grant's school for Teacher Appreciation week. I made them this tray of goodies that has red velvet oreo truffle bars and my go-to chocolate chip cookies. They're an awesome bunch of people and we so appreciate everything they do for Grant!

High Five for Friday

Today I'm linking up with Lauren and Jennie to share some of my favorite stuff from the past week.

1)We took a day trip to the beach on Saturday and had so much fun together!

2) Sunday was just about as gorgeous as Saturday so I had some playtime outside with Grant. We went for a bike ride then played soccer & baseball.

3) I love when packages from my sister come bearing bags of delightful coffee. I can't find get Green Mountain coffee in bags here so this is a treat but the golden french toast flavor is one of the few flavored coffees I'll drink. So yummy! If you're a coffee lover and have never had Green Mountain coffee...you're depriving yourself of greatness.

4) Grant wrote his name for the first time! He is a boy obsessed with practicing letters right now and last night he wrote Dad too :)

5) Today Grant will be participating in a trike-a-thon to benefit St. Jude at his school. We've been helping him fundraise for it and this morning I got to tell him that he met his goal - and since then exceeded it - of $200! He was so excited. I know he doesn't fully understand the concept of what they're doing, but he does know he's trying to help people and I'm so happy that that makes him happy. He's also super jazzed about getting ride his bike at school :)

High Five for Friday

Today I'm linking up with Lauren and Jennie to share some of my favorite stuff from the past week.

1) Last Friday we had a lunch celebration for a co-worker on his second retirement and I got to make him a cake! He's the type of the guy who's good to work with plus he's super adorable. We had a good time on Friday with him but we're sad to see him go.

2) I tried a new recipe on Sunday (post coming soon!) and it was SO good! 

3) Sunday night, Grant and I got to take another bike ride together (and Husband walked with us).

4) I got a little crafty this week and made myself (and my sis) some hair ties :)

5) Our Wednesday night dinner was a picnic in the park! Nothing fancy, just some sandwiches & chips. I even packed a little cooler and Grant got to have sprite. We almost never let him have it, he thought it was a very special treat. After we ate, we played soccer in the field and hit the playground before heading home. So much fun!

High Five for Friday

Today I'm linking up with Lauren and Jennie to share some of my favorite stuff from the past week.

1) I got branded! A good friend got me a new sticker for my car. Husband spent all of Saturday morning cleaning out my car and he put the sticker on too.

2) Lots of playtime last weekend! I finally bought a bike so Grant and I took a bike ride together (with Husband tagging along for a walk) and then we played baseball and soccer. We enjoyed some popsicles outside before nap time too. It was such a great weekend to be outside and we took full advantage!

3) Saturday night we tried to have a Family Movie Night to watch Frozen (torture for Husband since he hates musicals with every fiber of his being). We rented it from "on demand" and it was messing up so bad we ended up giving up halfway through the movie. But Sunday morning it was fine so we got to watch the whole movie. It was very cute! 

4) I'm loving the signs of spring! I have said on several occasions that I love winter...and I do but it's almost April...can we please have spring now??

5) My sister did a "TBT" (which I found out only last week means Throw Back Thursday) and put this old family picture on Facebook. It's actually a picture I sent her a while back and sort of forgot about. I love it!

High Five for Friday

Today I'm linking up with Lauren to share some of my favorite things from the past week.

1) After a frustrating first attempt (not being used to brakes), I got Grant back on his new bike this past weekend for a second attempt and he got it! He was cruising through the neighborhood in no time. After the bike ride there was a bonus game of baseball (in which I got nailed in the thigh by a very hard hit...those plastic softballs hurt!)

2) We had to go to the grocery store one evening this week but only needed a few things so I let Grant drive the little cart. He gets so excited about it and he looks so cute pushing it around :)

3) Also this week, I was struck by a nasty stomach bug that kept me in bed for 2 days. I think Grant missed me and wanted me to feel better because on Wednesday he came home with this butterfly he told me he made for me:

4) I love to hear Grant talk about his day, he gets very animated and intense when telling stories. One night this week he was telling us about playing with airplanes and crashing them into "chilly icebergs" (he gets this from the movie/book Planes...sort of).

5) Last, certainly not least but lacking a picture...I got the title to my car in the mail because I paid it off! Woohoo!!
