Rainy Day Pictures

Photographer, I am not. I'm 99% sure I'm not even one of those people that can recognize the artistic-ness of a situation. But for Grant's 2nd birthday, he got this adorable tractor umbrella that I knew would be a cute photo prop. And I have a really nice camera that Husband got me for an "early Mother's Day present" last year specifically because I wanted to take better pictures of Grant. 

Yesterday, we got home from dinner and it was a little drizzly outside and I was struck with the idea to do a little rainy day "photo shoot". We were out side all of ten minutes before a loud boom of thunder scared Grant so bad he started crying and running for the house (thank goodness we were only in the backyard). It had also started raining more than a drizzle so it was best to head inside. I didn't think I'd taken any good pictures but I was surprised when I looked a the few shots I managed before the storm.

Again, not a photographer by any means. But I love them. I've been reading a little bit about taking pictures of kids (specifically, your own) and how you shouldn't really direct them to do anything. So I tried really hard to let him do his own thing and I'm kinda loving the results :)
